Weed Wrangle 2021

Weed Wrangle®-Chattanooga

March 5, 2022
9:00 am
- 12:00 pm

Join us for Weed Wrangle®-Chattanooga!

Weed Wrangle® is a one-day, area-wide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines, and flowering plants.

Supervised by an expert in invasive weed management, Weed Wrangle® volunteers learn, practice and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of non-native invasive plants and encourage replanting with natives in removal areas. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a movement that will have the greatest impact on the invasive plant population. https://www.weedwrangle.org/

When: Saturday, March 5th, 9am-12pm

What to Expect: We will be manually removing non-native invasive plant species from a designated location in our 50-acre urban park. Tools, gloves, sunscreen, and bug spray will be provided. Plenty of snacks will be available!

What to Wear: Closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes

What to Bring: A water bottle, work gloves (if you have any), and a mask *Covid still presents a health risk and masks are recommended*
