We are a 34-year-old land trust operating on three core pillars:

Advocacy
Conservation
Recreation

With a strong belief in community-centered conservation, we practice traditional land trust conservation using easements, land acquisitions and land donations.

We work alongside landowners, donors and governments to protect and preserve Lookout Mountain - its watersheds, forests, valleys and threatened biodiversity - as it stretches through Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

Grandview Trail Trailhead

We steward 1500 acres of Lookout Mountain land.

Our public parks and trails are enjoyed by tens of thousands of people annually while landowners across Lookout Mountain trust us to protect and preserve significant tracts of privately-owned land.

Howard Student Interns at the Greenhouse

We partner with The Howard School.

Our transformative leadership program employs and mentors high school and college-bound students.

The Howard Leadership interns manage and maintain LMC’s parks and trails, gaining career-ready, life-changing skills, connection and community.

We believe in connecting people with the land we’re protecting.

Our vision of recreation is vast and inclusive. Our parks and trails are open for all.
